Congratulations to Crain’s Chicago Business, the winner of this year’s annual trivia bowl!
Thanks to all the teams that participated this year, helping us raise money for journalism scholarships. We’d also like to extend our appreciation to our presenting sponsor, Buick, and our host, Jenner & Block, for their generous support for this year’s trivia bowl. Thanks as well to the many local restaurants that donated food and beverages, and to the sponsors that donated our raffle prizes.
See you at next year’s trivia bowl!
Registration is now open for AAJA-Chicago’s annual charity trivia bowl tournament on Saturday, November 9.
The entry fee is $250, the same as last year. If you’re a non-profit organization, the entry fee is $200. For teams made up of students the fee is $150. Please register by using this form. You can use PayPal to make your donation by credit card or electronic transfer.
We’d like to thank Jenner & Block for hosting our event again this year at its beautiful conference center at 353 N. Clark Street. Space is limited, so please register early to secure a table for your team. Teams can have up to 8 participants. If you don’t have all your players when you register, that’s OK. Go ahead and sign up your team. You can recruit players until Wednesday, Nov. 6, when we’ll need a list of all guests for building security.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9. The competition will begin at 2 p.m. sharp and we’ll try to finish by 5 p.m. Please encourage your teammates to arrive early because teams can work on the picture round between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. We usually have 8 rounds of trivia plus the picture round. Like last year, you’ll be able to double your score in two rounds for a small donation to AAJA-Chicago.
If you have questions or would like additional information on sponsorship opportunities, please contact Ameet Sachdev (312-222-3489). We look forward to seeing you on November 9!

Thanks to everyone who made this year’s Trivia Bowl a successful and enjoyable event! Our food and raffle sponsors, quiz master, emcees, volunteer judges and participants all came together for a fantastic afternoon of trivia that culminated in a nail-biting, three-way tie between Chicago Now, WBEZ and Crain’s Chicago Business. Chicago Now emerged victorious, claiming the title for the second consecutive year.
The chapter raised more than $5,000 for student scholarships. More information on those scholarships will be coming soon.
